As a former farm, each barn on the grounds had the important task of storing food; the critical source of energy that sustained life on the farm. The Midgard grounds now carry the same sentiment of food at our restaurant appropriately named ‘The Barnyard’. In true fashion of bringing tasty nourishment, the Barnyard offers delectable food that can either be enjoyed indoors or on The Stoep that offers a stunning view of our mountainous surroundings.
Have a taste of our freshly baked goods in the crisp morning accompanied with a warm cup of tea or coffee, you choose. We are dedicated to ensuring that above all else, you always have a full belly!
Enjoy a nightcap on The Stoep or at our bar, The Pumphouse, which is located close to our fire pit for you to enjoy a warm night under the stars.
Amidst our more ominous animals, we keep our farm traditions alive with our majestic horses. Our super friendly horses are always happy to go for a little trot with you as long as you promise to give them a couple of carrots for their hard work! For the little ones, we also have ponies that can give the young ones a safe yet exciting mini ride.

On our scenic grounds, we offer a nature drive that brings along with remarkable views and lead by our experienced tour game drivers. Enjoy an adventure on our tour rides accompanied with refreshments to truly savour the views along the Swakop River. When they are not too shy, you can catch a glimpse of some wildebeest, giraffes and other elusive wildlife! Midgard also has a wide variety of semi-indigenous and migratory birds for our avid bird-lovers.
Being surrounded by the Otjihavera Mountains has its peaks, one being our gorgeous sunsets! African sunsets are renowned for their glowing beauty and we are lucky to have just the perfect spot for you to watch as the sun sets on all that it touches. Our Hilltop Sundowner is inclusive of a 20 minute drive along the Swakop River just in time to witness a spectacular Namibian sunset with some dry snacks and as well as a few drinks! Intimate or private drives are also available on request.
Sven’s Kegelbahn is a fun way to test your strategic and motor skills! Also known as a ‘Skittle Alley’ in English, this game requires precision, aim and a great load of fun. Team up with your friends and family and have a go at this traditional version of bowling!
